ERIC SMITH'S BIOGRAPHY
I have been a lifelong shooter. My mother bought me my first .22 when I was 5 months old and my father was an avid plinker and Bench Rest competitor. I have had a gun in my hand as long as I can remember. I began shooting NRA High Power in 1998 and attended my first National Championships in 1999. I earned my Distinguished Riflemans Badge in 2001. Joining the Army in 2003, I made the Army Reserve Combat Shooting Team and then the Army Reserve Service Rifle Team. I became an army small arms instructor in 2006 and spent the next 5 years teaching marksmanship. In 2009 I was selected to be cadre at the Army Reserve Small Arms Instructor Academy where I spend a year mobilized. In 2011 I made the US Long Range Rifle Developmental Team and traveled with the US Goodwill Team to Australia for the 2011 World Championships. In 2013 I was placed on the US Long Range Rifle Team. I was selected for the 2013 US Long Range Rifle Team that travel to Canada for the Canadian Target Rifle Nationals and the America Match. Shooting as a member of the US Team at the 2015 World Championships, we placed second in the World Palma Team Match.
